Studying
abroad. Pretty cool. But when, where, how and why? In order to
answer your questions I have listed some frequently asked questions (FAQ)
here.
What do you currently
study?
I study (International)
Business Communication at Nijmegen University. It is a multidisciplinary
programme, combining the fields of English, business and communication.
Why are you going to
study abroad?
My studies have an international
orientation, so studying abroad is a logical step. Furthermore I think
it is a great opportunity to get to know another culture and to experience
education in another country
Why South Africa?
When I travelled in Australia
I got infected with the "travel virus". I would love to see more of the
world so why not start in a place where you can see the world in one
country? Besides, there is this really cool exchange agreement between
my Arts Faculty and the Arts Faculty of the Stellenbosch University. |
When
are you going to study in SA?
I am staying from July 14th
till the 29th of December 2001. The semester runs from July 23 until December
12.
Where exactly are you
going?
I am going to study in the
town of Stellenbosch, a historic rural town some 50 kms from Cape Town,
situated in a most beautiful area. Housing on the campus is arranged.
What will you be studying?
Gee, good question. So far
I am not totally sure yet. All I know is that I am going to attend courses,
probably at the Information Science and Political Science departments.
Next to that I will enroll in Afrikaans courses!
Are you only going
to study?
Doh! Of course not. There
will be heaps of cool stuff to do. I do have the intention to complete
some courses, but next to that I want to see the country, get to know the
people and culture and make the most of my stay. |
